I can empty my mind really easily
8:43 AM
But focusing is a lot harder
Avatar
mm i find emptying my mind rather difficult- depending on the definition of it-
11:12 AM
there's always something in there to focus on and it annoys me
Avatar
same tbh, theres always something popping up
10:29 PM
i tried meditating and didnt really get far, my eyelids were trembling and i always had something else appearing in my mind
Avatar
hhh yes that's exactly what keeps happening to me
11:39 PM
it's always a song or otherwise I just end up talking to Lucio-

Hm, there's an artist I like to listen to while meditating. His tracks help me keep somewhat focuses and they also introduce a notion of spacey-ness in my head (like an expanding room, basically there's suddenly more room in ones head). Maybe you want to give it a try? https://open.spotify.com/artist/3FpCFpdoJOrGuR3G7UBgC7?si=qX98cazARMWBUdNnUp4Cjw

I’ve heard it recommended, acknowledging the thoughts and letting them drift by like clouds or bubbles.
Avatar
Deleted User 8/2/2018 1:24 PM
okay so i've been trying meditation and focusing on fully fleshing out my tulpa, but my adhd makes me fidget and think about a million things at once, does anyone have any method that can help?
Avatar
Either get some meds for it or just let the intrusive thoughts flow past you, paying them no mind. It takes practice,

alright, thanks i'll try that out

My problem isn't my ADHD, usally if I just wait 20 minutes it becomes easy to ignore the thoughts, but how can i actually sit comfortably during meditation without any sort of muscular effort that I hear sk many people talk about?
4:00 PM
It's like if I relax too much I just end up falling over on my back
Avatar
Breloomancer 8/3/2018 4:13 PM
It is good to keep your back supported, also meditation can involve muscular effort

We do it lying down, but only earlier in the day
7:51 PM
Too late at night and it puts us to sleep half the time Cx
Avatar
our computer chair is pretty comfy, it's usually where we switch which is similar to meditating.. for like a minute, it's close enough ok
11:55 PM
it leans back and is cushy enough that we could meditate in it
11:56 PM
otherwise Tewi's meditated sitting on our bed against the wall too
11:56 PM
meditating lying down is a whole nother beast tho
11:56 PM
so easy to fall asleep
Avatar
we figure how to meditate when lying down and it's really really hard to do so
5:33 PM
so I'd definitely not recommend that as a starting option
Avatar
I wonder if it would be easier to meditate in zero g
Avatar
you would be.. ultra distracted
5:27 AM
and even after getting a little used to it you'd be really uncomfortable
5:27 AM
probably
5:27 AM
now a sensory deprivation chamber on the other hand
5:27 AM
the kind where you float
5:27 AM
depending on the person that could work extremely well, or not
5:28 AM
most people kinda freak out a little
5:28 AM
as long as it's not that padded box room (where you hear your own body) I feel like I'd be pretty alright tho, can just talk to systemmates
5:29 AM
would probably do wonders for visualization clarity
5:29 AM
hmm...
5:29 AM
I wonder if reducing all the senses sensing as much as we could would help make our visualization clearer
Avatar
I sometimes wonder if I could force while in a coma if so I wouldn't mind trying it for a day
1:10 AM
might be the closest thing to pulling all senses inwards without heavy drugs or something
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/25/2018 1:19 AM
...
1:19 AM
no
1:19 AM
that's not what a coma is
Avatar
ya didn't think so well something like that would be nice
Avatar
hammm drugs might have to be the answer then something like a drug induced sleep that help you lucid dream
Avatar
you could try'n get a sensory deprivation chamber
2:13 AM
or, y'know
2:14 AM
just a lil closed off spot to be in.. with some like pillows or something..
2:14 AM
either won't damage your brain like drugs
Avatar
well it's not really something I was planning on doing I just like to try and figure stuff for pointless or impossible things, now having a wonderland in the matrix would be the best plus I wonder what meditating on a private mental server would be like
Avatar
Drugs won't help. You simply need to remove distractions, find a quiet place, and think to yourself. Even meditation isn't a strict requirement but helps. You need to internalize, think about your own thoughts, and work from there. Mind voicing aka internal dialogue helps a lot

As someone who has had many experiences with many drugs, I have to honestly say that the best meditation I get is always when I'm sober.

Ive never taken drugs but heard countless stories and experiences with them. Why risk it? Its a wild card. 9 times out of 1000 its not going to help whatsoever. Unless you’ve been prescribed a calmative from a doctor or a placebo its not worth it.
Avatar
On drugs: yeah, destroyed my family. I never touched the stuff myself, never would. Addiction is a bitch.
Avatar
Hmm some it really bad but some would help for some mental issue
Avatar
right, but meth isn't one of those
Avatar
meth is a bad thing like really bad.......

I use relaxation meditation to reach a hypnagogic state. That state is pretty dreamlike, so i can ask my tulpas to talk to me. Audio imposition follows about half the time, but it's always pretty satisfying, since i usually fall asleep during it.
2:26 PM
I have had long sessireons lasting 20 to 30 minutes, it was basically a lucid dream, superrealistic visions and my tulpas do join me often in these. They are not quite a dream though, i can still move my body irl, and i don't get jerked out of it. The dream like state is pretty rare though.
2:28 PM
I mostly just get their voices, other random voices, random images, very detailed scenes and animated random people.
2:28 PM
I have spoken fluently with my tulpas in this state with clear audio imposition.

@Bear Hi mate, can you go into more detail on how you attain hypnagogia please? I'm interested. Cheers

The only times I've ever heard Eris initiate the conversation was in hypnagogia (edited)
7:36 PM
Yeah sure, cheers

Don't know how to do that

Is this some kind of private / sensitive information? 😄 Cuz, I too would like to improve my meditation and most things I find when searching for 'relaxation meditation' is just straight up clickbait bullshit. So I guess hit me with a DM please? @Bear @Moonlit_Menagerie

Im curious whats to private too. For me meditation really is just sit with my thoughts and let them go.
Avatar
That's what we do mostly.

Moonlit_Menagerie 9/21/2018 5:16 PM
To be honest it's not really private at all, I just prefer talking to people one on one :P

i done did once
8:01 PM
That's my only best spot
8:01 PM
not for long tho
8:01 PM
hmm
8:01 PM
i usually just sit in the half lotus position and think on things
Avatar
Moonlit_Menagerie 9/27/2018 8:02 PM
if you can find a comfortable position there, I would imagine the flowing water and its noises would be conducive to a good experience
